Interface tour
The canvas
Sketch geometry roughly, then add constraints and dimensions to pin it down. Dragging any point re-solves the whole model live: geometry, constraints, and forces all update together.
Scroll to zoom and drag empty space to pan. Fit-to-view reframes the whole model, and is also triggered automatically when you switch tabs.
Every edit is snapshotted, so you can step back through geometry changes, constraints, supports and loads alike.
The toolbar (bottom)
Everything you place on the canvas comes from here: geometry, supports, loads, dimensions, images, and the visibility toggles.
Tools with a small arrow hold related variants. The beam tool holds fixed-end members, construction lines, points and circles. Full list on the Toolbar page.
Select geometry and the constraints that apply to that selection appear in the toolbar. Nothing irrelevant is ever shown.
Panels (right edge)
Two slide-out panels hold everything about the model that isn't geometry. Click the tab on the edge to open or close them; they stay open until you close them.
Lists every constraint on the sketch with its type and value. Hover a row to highlight it on the canvas, toggle one off to test what it was holding, or delete it. Also shows how many are currently active.
Sets the section for the whole model, or overrides individual members. Pick from the built-in catalog or enter a fully custom section. Every property stays visible and editable.
Workbook tabs (left edge)
Tabs work like sheets in a spreadsheet: several related canvases grouped into one workbook.
Click a tab to switch canvases, double-click its name to rename it inline, or drag to reorder. Switching tabs re-fits the view automatically.
Share a single tab or publish a canvas. Removing a tab from a workbook and deleting the canvas outright are deliberately separate actions, each with its own confirmation.
The footer
Model-wide display settings and status live along the bottom edge.
Switch length units (m, mm, cm, in, ft) and force units (N, kN, lb, kip) at any time, and choose how many decimal places results display. These affect display only; the solver always works in SI.
Shows the active material and flags conditions worth knowing about, such as members stocky enough that shear deformation meaningfully changes the answer.
Zoom in and out, or fit the model to the window.
